Tried 3 loops of what ended up being 7 miles eacg. Felt good for the first two, both were under 8 min pace for 14 miles. I know Sasha suggests that you drop down from slower than marathon pace to pace on these weekend long runs. That would have been nice. Anyways, at about 15 miles I was done. Pace fell to like 10 min per mile or slower and I called it. Unfortunate. I know I am in better shape than I have been in a while but my long distance fitness needs to be evaluated if I am going to have a shot at sub 3. I mean I am in way better shape than when i ran 3:06 and i ran a 1:26 half and I'm just getting stronger so its just a matter of time before a huge breakthrough on 800 1500 3k 5k 10k half and full. big time |
